Off Duty

A short film, directed by Florian Dedio

Kristy does not know why Jake is after these “Cutters”. All she knows is he is a cop, and he’s been looking after her, and that he will pay well if she finds them first.
But when she joins them, when she shares their campfire and hears their manic cackling, when she sees the knife come out, she realizes that she may be in over her head. And when Jake shows up, gun in hand, and starts shooting, she knows her hunch is right…

Off Duty” is the re-imagining of a short film named “Twilight” that I worked on in 2003. It explores the themes of loss and abandonment in the stark, graffitied alleys of western Leipzig.

It’s currently in the finishing stages of post-production and will premiere in 2018.
